Pizzavia Logo Concepts

I was hired to design a logo for Pizzevia, a portable brick oven.
Below are the 3 versions.
The client was interest in the idea of a classic horse and carriage or chariot concept for the logo, but was afraid that the vintage look and feel, would not best represent a vehicle made of mostly stainless steel.

The second design was influenced by AC Roma, the Italian soccer club. The patch-like crest encompasses a flame, which flows in the shape of the letter "P". The Pizzevia font is very similar to the Roman Legioneer "SPQR" - which stand for Sempre Pronto Questi Romani. The exact translation is The Romans are Always Ready.

The third and final design concept for the Pizzevia logo. The design is balanced and has rhythm which attracts the viewer. The "Pizzevia" was designed with the intensions of a classic automobile or vespa scooter. It movement elements leads the viewer to believe that there is motion involved. This is my choice and the client's top choice.
